FALMER THERMAL SPRAY

TantaROCK has been developed specifically for very abrasive, erosive and corrosive conditions. TantaROCK takes advantage a specially formulated ceramic oxide that is coated on top of Tantaline’s tantalum surface alloy.  As a result, TantaROCK  is the most abrasion, erosion and corrosion acid resistant surface commercially available.

Having the ability to apply the TantaROCK only on the needed surfaces it is idea for:

·         Pump Impellers

·         Mixers

·         High RPM parts

·         Parts that experience high velocity liquids

·         Slurries

·         Abrasive particulates

Teaming up with each other, Falmer and Tantaline have been able to design and develop a material with the combined attributes of extreme abrasion, erosion and corrosion resistance in one product.  The resulting, TantaROCK  has the following unique characteristics.

·         Material: Chrome Oxide / Tantalum surface alloy

·         Corrosion Resistance: Immune to nearly all acids like HCl, H2SO4, Cl gas, Br, Nitric acid, Acetic acid and organic chemicals.

·         Melting Point:  3450 F

·         Hardness:  92-95 Rn15

·         Bond Strength:  4600 PSI min

·         Surface Finish As Sprayed:  160-200 Ra

·         Surface Finish Ground:  2-4 Ra

·         Coefficient of Expansion:  4.5-5.0 x 10-6

·         Electrically Conductivity: None

·         Typical Usage:  Good for Cavitation,  Erosion, Fretting Wear, Sliding & Rotating Wear, Abrasion and Chemical Corrosion
